Two members of the class were named Top-25 recruits by the magazine. Freshman defenseman Liz Donovan and midfielder Samantha Taylor were ranked in the top-25 of freshman recruits in the country. Additionally, classmate Ginny Gummersall was included as part of the "watch list" of top recruits.

Finnesey Field received a huge upgrade this summer. Starting June 6, construction for a new turf field on Finnesey Field began and was completed on August 31. Finnesey Field will be home to four field sports for the 2008-09 season.

In all, the UMass coaching staff has had a hand in six of the last nine NCAA National Championships.
