Rapin Earns GLIAC North Division Player of the Week Honors

Sophomore middle blocker Rebeccah Rapin was named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week on Monday (Sept. 8), as she helped lead the Lakers to a 3-1 weekend at the Regis Premier Challenge in Denver, Colo. It is the first such award for Rapin in her GVSU career.

2008 Volleyball Media Guide Now On Sale & Online

The 2008 Idaho State University Volleyball Media Guide is now available for fans to either purchase or download for free online. The guide contains 60 pages of information, expanded by four additional pages than last season, such as ISU's updated record book including game record breakdown and full history. Also, Idaho State's preseason roster and biographical sketches are included.

UCF Volleyball Entertains Bethune-Cookman Wednesday

After three-straight matches on the road, the UCF volleyball team returns to The Venue at UCF Wednesday to host in-state rival Bethune-Cookman at 7 p.m. The Knights hold a 3-4 record on the season after posting a 1-2 record last weekend at the Jayhawk Invitational.

Air Force Prepares to Host the AF Invitational

The Air Force volleyball team concludes its non-conference tournament schedule with the Air Force Invitational Volleyball Tournament this weekend. It is the third straight weekend that the Falcons have hosted a home tournament. Air Force will take on Kent State and Florida Atlantic on Friday (Sept. 12), before facing Texas A&M Corpus Christi and North Carolina Central on Saturday (Sept. 13) at Clune Arena.

49ers Face Four Matches In Boston

After two weeks featuring three matches for the 49ers, Long Beach State enters its busiest week of the season, traveling to the Boston area for four matches on Friday and Saturday.

NU Heads To Pacific Northwest For Washington State Cougar Challenge

It's back to the road for Northwestern, with the destination this weekend the Pacific Northwest as the Wildcats compete in the Cougar Challenge Tournament hosted by Washington State University in Pullman, Wash., Sept. 12 and 13. NU opens up with Montana State at 6:30 p.m. Friday and then faces Wichita State at 12 noon Saturday. The `Cats close out the weekend by facing the host Cougars in the tournament's finale at 9 p.m. Saturday.

Fresh off their first road trip of the season, the Wildcats return to the friendly confines of Memorial Coliseum for a mid-week match against Tennessee State, Wednesday. First serve is slated for a 6 p.m. start.

Florida State Downs South Dakota State 3-0 To Claim Seminole Tri-Tournament Crown

It was a weekend of sweeps for Florida State as it downed South Dakota State in three sets (25-19, 25-23, 25-17) on the final day of the Seminole Tri-Tournament Sunday, September 7. The Seminoles also swept North Florida 3-0 on Friday night to win their final home tournament of the season and extend their record to 5-1.

Rams finish strong at Asics Classic

In the early going of Sunday afternoon's volleyball match against Pacific University, the Colorado State Rams certainly looked liked a team playing its second match in less than 24 hours. Colorado State struggled in the opening set against Pacific but then responded by winning each of the final three sets to post a 3-1 (20-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21) win.

Tigers Downed by No. 17 Colorado State, 3-1

Corvallis, Ore. - The Pacific women's volleyball team put a scare into No. 17 Colorado State, taking the first set 25-20, but eventually gave way to the Rams, 3-1, on Sunday, Sept. 7 in the final match for both team at the Oregon State / Asics Classic.
